meeting the city— Córdoba, Argentina

Big city with multiple vibes. This city is a fave!! It reminded me of home (but only a little bit) because of the hippy neighborhood known as Güemes > otherwise, there’s definitely a German influence here. + many buildings have a European look to it. Once you walk a few blocks from the hippy neighborhood, you’ll reach the main city center.

Unfortunately, I did not get to explore as much I wanted due to a sick day (from receiving the yellow fever vaccine..) But, I’m so glad I got to visit. I will remember to visit the huge park next time I visit.

Arrival: Started off with an amazing breakfast (so good, came here twice and would come back more in a heartbeat)!

coffee, power breakfast & salmon toast + *un featured* matcha latte – all under $8 usd

Side note: Being the second city visited in Argentina, I noticed that Argentina has a common theme of pizza > ham & green olives.

City snapshots:

This city is known for sweeter & juicier empanadas. I was very curious to what that would taste like, how different could the flavor may be. I LOVED IT! La Vieja Esquina is a local town fave since 1984. Also known for their locro soup (corn, meat, & beans). They also offer “empanadas dulces” (which are most popular in Cordoba) if you enjoy sweet and savoury, this is your ideal empanada!

Upcoming post: the best waterfall I’ve ever seen in my life, the breathtaking Iguazú Falls or Foz do Iguaçu
