Patagonia — Perito Moreno Glacier

One day, I’m connected to the powerful Igauzu waterfalls.. The sunshine is bright, causing a multiple rainbows when meeting the splashes of the falls. The birds are soaring over the curtain streams of water, the monkeys are jumping from one tree to another, the coatis are crawling through bushes, it’s truly just another average day for the animals. The weather is hot, back at home we’d say “it’s tank top and shorts” type of hot— which is perfect.

The next day,

I am arriving to a city called, El Calafate, south of Argentina. This flight, I ranked, the most beautiful. Outside the typical, oval airplane window, was a bright, turquoise blue. It was the lake, known as Lago Argentina. The lakes appearance is so vibrant and would sparkle with the sun. I even noticed it 3 seats down, from the aisle seat! Ain’t that crazy? I rated this to be the prettiest flight I been on and I didn’t even have the window seat. I constantly turned left and right and had to peak through heads that boggled back and forth. Many passengers were taking photos and sharing gasps of such a beautiful sight. The snow capped mountains paired with the bright lake was astonishing.

Even though I did not get a great spot, the memory and the feeling is unforgettable.

Once everyone boarded off the plane, you’d soon notice that the airport is tiny. Quickly exiting the sliding doors, the wind would pierce through, it was strong. You could tell the wind was pulling the breeze from the cold mountains.

From there, a shuttle was the best option to get into the city. Such a cute small town. Could definitely walk across the main center in about 20-30 minutes. Luckily (also rare to occur this time of the season), I got to experience snowfall the next morning in Patagonia, it was a winter wonderland. ❄️

El Calafate is known for visiting the National Glacier Park, or also known as:

PARQUE NACIONAL LOS GLACIARES

Here, in this city, our main purpose was to visit the glaciers, GLACIAR PERITO MORENO.

The hostel we stayed at was called Folk Hostel. Comfy beds, clean, floor was heated, great breakfast (which was included). They recommended a nice restaurant that served traditional cooked Argentina lamb.
